Residential / Commercial Garage Door Service Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, analyzes, diagnose, and repairs residential/commercial garage door(s)
  • Performs preventative maintenance and proactive repairs when needed
  • Represents company by serving as a direct company contact
  • Provides repair vs. replacement options
  • Responds to calls in a timely manner
  • Provides sales leads to Sales Lead Coordinator
  • Achieves annual and monthly sales goals
  • Determines parts to order for repairs in a timely manner
  • Complete paperwork for each job, including daily time, job status and duration
  • Records parts, materials, labor and other cost data per job and return unused resources to warehouse
  • Responsible to comply with OSHA guidelines and company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintains truck maintenance and completes truck inspection daily
  • Required to drive a company vehicle and must follow all driving and safety rules and DOT requirements at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of Garage Door Installation or Repair experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Motivated to achieve sales goals
  • Professional appearance
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Able to problem solve
  • Good Organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime / weekends as required
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs.
  • Completes all mandatory paperwork in a timely manner
  • Reports to job assignment and work in a timely manner

  • Must maintain a Valid Driver s License

Position requires a Drug Test and Motor Vehicle Report to be completed, contingent upon employment.

Physical Demands

  • Able to work at heights up to 20 feet
  • Frequently installs, moves garage doors weighting up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to consistently lift, push, kneel, crouch, reach while handling the tools necessary to install garage doors
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and use depth perception

Work Environment

  • Works in a residential/commercial environment, these homes/building may be in new construction phases or can be occupied at the time of service
  • Able to adapt to weather conditions

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
